What is the POS Manager Module?
POS Manager is a module within POS (via the Tools menu) that allows a POS operator (aka POS user) to manage certain features directly in POS rather than having to use the Core system software.
At this time, POS Manager allows access to the following:
- Product management
- Modifier prompts
- Table management
- POS operators
- Closing the Day
- Schedules and Services
- POS Dashboard
Giving a POS Operator Access to the POS Manager Module
For a POS operator to access POS Manager, that POS operator must first have a POS admin user profile (to create a POS admin user profile, please contact MealSuite Support; if you are MealSuite Support see the following internal article: Creating a POS Admin User (INTERNAL).
You then assign that POS admin user profile to the POS operator profile. To do so, complete the following steps:
- In the Core System, select Point of Sale > Operators. The Operators listing screen appears, listing existing operators and their assigned permissions.
- For the POS operator for whom you want to provide access to POS Manager, click its gear icon in the Actions column and select Edit. The Edit Operator slide-out panel appears.
- In the Associated User for POS Manager Tools drop-down, select the operator's POS admin user profile.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
- When the POS operator logs into POS, the POS Manager module will be available from the Tools menu, as per screenshot below.
For MealSuite Support: Enable Permissions for the POS Manager Module
Certain features that are offered in the front-end POS Manager module are determined by the permissions profile assigned to the POS admin user profile that in turn is assigned to the front-end POS operator through their account.
If you are MealSuite Support, see Managing Permissions for the Front-End POS Manager Module (INTERNAL).
For MealSuite Support: Configuring a Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) to Allow Access to POS Manager Module
The means for an SSK to allow access to the POS Manager module is via the POS operator profile that is selected in the What POS Operator should transactions for the kiosk be registered under? field in the Self Service Kiosk Configuration section of a POS location (screenshot below).
Because the purpose of that field is to indicate that an order is coming from the SSK (screenshot below), a POS operator name such as "SSK Order" or "Order from SSK" is created and entered in the field.
Therefore, you must assign that "SSK Order" or "Order from SSK" operator name a POS admin user profile in the Associated User for POS Manager Tools field, as per screenshot below. To create a POS admin user profile, see Creating a POS Admin User (INTERNAL).
A user can then use the "SSK Order" or "Order from SSK" operator profile to login to the SSK, and the POS Manager module will be available.
Note that for an SSK station, a POS operator accesses the Tools menu (where the POS Manager Module is accessed) by tapping the Powered by MealSuite image five times (first screenshot below), and then entering their operator ID.
