You can set up your account to automatically acknowledge certain messages. When a message is set to be automatically acknowledged it means you do not have to manually acknowledge the message.
To set up automatic acknowledgement of messages, complete the following steps:
- Open the Connect screen (People > Connect).
- Click the Settings button. The Connect Settings screen appears as a slide-out panel.
- Scroll down to Auto Acknowledge section.
- From the Auto Acknowledge drop-down, the following auto-acknowledgement options are available:
- Acknowledge All Messages Manually - no messages will be automatically acknowledged and therefore must be manually acknowledged.
- Only Demographic updates (A08) - only demographic update messages will be automatically acknowledged; all other message types will need to be manually acknowledged.
- All messages EXCEPT Diet Order and Allergy Updates - diet order update messages and allergy update message will need to be manually acknowledged; all other message types will be automatically acknowledged.

All messages including Diet order and Allergy Updates - all messages will be automatically acknowledged.
Note: Selecting an auto-acknowledge option from above will only apply to any future messages that are received. Any existing messages that are currently unacknowledged will remain unacknowledged until manually acknowledged.
- Upon making an above selection, the following confirmation message pop-up appears.
- Click OK to enable the setting.
- At the top right of the slide-out panel, click Save to apply your changes and close the slide-out panel.
