Scenario: Automatic Closing of Tickets and Automatic Printing of Receipts
Scenario description: For a ticket not paid by a meal plan, when the POS operator processes the full payment, the receipt automatically prints and the ticket automatically closes.
Scenario description: For a ticket paid by a meal plan, when the POS operator taps Close, the receipt automatically prints and the ticket closes.
Configuration Settings
The configuration settings to automatically close tickets and automatically print receipts are located in the Service Configuration section of a POS location and indicated below.

Scenario description: For a ticket not paid by a meal plan, when the POS operator processes the full payment, the screen refreshes with the Print button and the Close Ticket button. The POS operator is required to tap Print to print the receipt, and then tap Close Ticket to close the ticket.
Scenario description: For a ticket paid by a meal plan, the POS operator is required to tap Print to print the receipt, and then tap Close to close the ticket.

What About Manual Printing of Receipts and Automatic Closing of Tickets?
The system does not allow for the manual printing of receipts and the automatic closing of tickets. If the POS location is manually printing receipts, then the system must also be set up to manually close tickets (see above). The reason is that it forces the screen with the Close Ticket button to appear, which also displays the Print button to manually print the receipt (screenshot below).
Adding Address and Phone Number to Receipts
If your Touch Admin profile has access to Account Settings, then you can configure your POS receipts to print the address and phone number of your facility. To do so, complete the following steps:
- Select Account Settings. The Edit Location screen appears.
- Scroll down the screen. Enter the information in the following fields:
- Address
- City
- State
-
Telephone
- At the bottom of the screen click the Update Facility button to apply your changes. When receipts are now printed, they will print with the address and phone number entered above.
Printing a Duplicate Receipt
You can configure a POS location to automatically print a duplicate receipt when the receipt is printed. The duplicate receipt is indicated as such with DUPLICATE COPY text at the bottom of the receipt.
To configure a POS location to automatically print a duplicate receipt, complete the following steps:
- In Touch Admin, click POS Setting > Locations.
- Click the Edit button of the dining room location. you want to set up reservations for.
- Scroll to the Service Configuration section.
- Select the Print two receipts for each transaction option.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Save Location button.
