Marking a Preference Group as Do Not Serve for a Resident/Patient
A preference group (or multiple preference groups) can be marked as do not serve for a resident/patient's personal menu, meaning all items in the preference group will be marked as do not serve for the resident/patient. To mark a preference group as do not serve, complete the following steps:
-
Open the person’s personal menu.
- At the top right corner, click the settings tool. The customization slide-out panel appears.
- The Diet Order field by default displays the person’s currently-assigned diet order (diet type and texture type), which is indicated by the blue user icon. You can only add a personal customization to the person’s currently assigned diet order, so therefore ensure it is selected in the Diet Order field.
If the person’s currently-assigned diet order consists of different texture types for meal periods and snack times, then those texture types (combined with the primary diet type) are available in the Diet Order field with the blue user icon, as per screenshot below. Therefore personal customizations can be added to them. (For more on what diet orders are displayed in the Diet Order field, see Viewing Personal Menu Customization Grid > Diet Order Field).
- Click Add New > Do Not Serve. The Do Not Serve pop-up appears.
- Select the Dislikes Groups option (aka preference group). The pop-up refreshes accordingly.
- From the field, select the desired preference group or groups to mark as do not serve. For example, the preference group milk. If a desired preference group is not available, see Don't See a Preference Group? below.
- Click the Save button to apply your changes and close the pop-up. Any items from the selected preference group(s) are crossed out to indicate they are do not serve.
Don't See a Desired Preference Group?
If a desired preference group is not available to mark as a "do not serve", then first confirm if the preference group is available in your account for use; see Displaying the Preference Groups Available to your Account.
If the desired preference group is available in your account, it could be that it is unpublished. If so, an unpublished preference group is not available to be marked as a do not serve. If your account owns the preference group, then you can republish it; see Publishing a Preference Group. If your parent account instead owns the preference group, then your account will not be able to republish it; please reach out to your parent account for them to publish the preference group.
You also have the option of creating a preference group and adding items to it. To do so, see Creating a Preference Group, and then Preference Group: Adding Ingredients, Prepared Foods, Recipes.
