Overview
Prior to explaining how the POS Manager module is accessible from an SSK, an overview is first required to explain how a POS Manager module is accessed when working in another POS station type (dining room location, quick service location, and service location).
- A POS operator is given permissions to access the front-end POS Manager module by being assigned a Touch Admin user profile (see Giving a POS Operator Access to the POS Manager Module).
- When a POS operator with POS Manager permissions accesses the Tools menu on a POS station, the POS Manager module is available, as per screenshot below.
- For an SSK station, a POS operator accesses the Tools menu by tapping the Powered by MealSuite image five times (first screenshot below), and then entering their operator ID.
- However, for a POS operator with POS Manager permissions, the POS Manager module may not be available for an SSK station, as per screenshot below.
Configuring SSK to Allow Access to POS Manager Module
The means for an SSK to allow access to the POS Manager module is via the POS operator profile that is selected in the What POS Operator should transactions for the kiosk be registered under? field in the Self Service Kiosk Configuration section of a POS location (screenshot below).
Because the purpose of that field is to indicate that an order is coming from the SSK (screenshot below), a POS operator name such as "SSK Order" or "Order from SSK" is created and entered in the field.
Therefore, you must assign that "SSK Order" POS operator profile a Touch Admin user profile. See Creating a New User for the Touch Admin Software of an Account.
A user can then use the "SSK Order" POS operator profile to login to the SSK, and the POS Manager module will be available.
