- Do Not Use the "Fluid Restriction" Option from the Fluid Drop-Down
Assigning a Fluid Type to a Resident/Patient
A resident/patient is assigned a fluid type (honey thick, nectar thick, etc.) via the Fluid field in their Personal Information section on their profile (screenshot below). For specific instructions, see Assigning Diet Order (Diet Type, Texture Type, Fluid Type) to Person.
When a resident/patient is assigned a particular fluid type (honey thick, nectar thick, etc.), then the system will serve the fluid recipe substitute of the fluid type that has been extended for a recipe. See How a Fluid Recipe is Served for more information.
Do Not Use the "Fluid Restriction" Option from the Fluid Drop-Down
When assigning a fluid diet type to a resident/patient, the Fluid Restriction option may be available from the Fluid drop-down (screenshot below).
DO NOT USE the Fluid Restriction option! The Fluid Restriction option currently serves no function. It was carried over from the legacy system, and as such will be removed from accounts it is currently available in.
To implement a fluid restriction for a resident/patient, see the following article: Implementing a Fluid Restriction for a Resident/Patient.
