How to Acknowledge a Connect Message from the Connect Screen
To acknowledge a Connect message from the Connect screen, complete the following steps:
- Open the Connect screen (People > Connect), where messages waiting to be acknowledged are listed.
- For the message to be acknowledged, either click the Acknowledge button or click the person’s name link. You will notice at the top of the profile screen is one or more coloured alert banners, each indicating one or more messages of a specific type.
- To acknowledge a message, click its coloured alert banner to display the message details and the Acknowledge button, and then click the Acknowledge button.
If there are multiple messages of the same type, then the banner states such (first screenshot below), and the See more details link opens the Connect Messages window with details of each message (second screenshot below) for you to acknowledge.
Message Acknowledgement and the Opening of Profiles
By default, when you open one of the following message types, the associated person’s profile automatically opens for you to review the EHR data:
- Admit
- Update (patient demographic information)
- Leave of Absence (Leave)
- Leave of Absence (Return)
- Allergy Update
- Diet Order Update (diet, texture, fluid, diet intervention)
Note: For the transfer message and discharge message, the person’s profile does not open when you acknowledge the message.
For ADT (admit, discharge, transfer) messages, you can set up the system to not open a person's profile upon manually acknowledging a message. To so see, Acknowledging ADT Messages Without Opening a Person’s Profile
