For a menu item (i.e., recipe), if one of its ingredients does not have a selected vendor product, then the system estimates the cost of that ingredient (see About Recipe Costs for more information).
As such, when costs are displayed on the menu day view, and a menu item has an estimated cost, the following icon appears to indicate such: (also seen in screenshot below).
Hovering your cursor over the icon states "Estimated cost due to missing vendor product"
- By clicking once on the menu item (first screenshot below), the recipe details display on the right (second screenshot below), which allows you to see which ingredient does not have a selected vendor product.
- From the Ingredients section, you can see what ingredient does not have a vendor product via the Vendor Product column.
- Click the Manage Product button (first screenshot below) to open the Vendor Product Selection screen, which lists the ingredients specific to the recipe (second screenshot below).
- Confirm if a No Matching Vendor Product label is displayed for the ingredient (i.e., food item). If so, then see the following topic for resolution options: Resolving a Food Item with the "No Matching Vendor Product" Label.
