Step 1: Connect Printer to Network and Print Network Sheet
Load the paper and the ribbon cartridge into printer.
Connect the printer to network wall port using an Ethernet cable.
Power on the printer.
Hold the small button on the back panel (beside the network port) for three seconds. A sheet is printed with the network information, including IP address. Copy this IP address as you will require it in step 3.1 below.
Step 2: Add Printer to your MealSuite Account
In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right.
From the Settings panel, select Hardware Settings > Printers. The Printers screen appears.
Click the Add Printer button. The Add Printer screen appears.
Enter the following:
Name - enter the desired name of the printer. The name should be easily recognized by your staff to print orders and is typically based on the location of the printer.
Printer Brand - select Epson.
Serial Number - enter the serial number of the printer (located on side of printer)
Click the Save Printer button. The printer details are listed, and an Epson Server Direct Print URL is created (indicated in screenshot below). Note this URL as you will require it in step 3.5 below.
Step 3: Connect Printer to Epson Server Direct
Type the IP address into a web browser (http://IP address) on a phone or Windows computer connected to the same network to access the EpsonNet Config site. Accept any security warnings. Login with epson as the user ID and the serial number of the printer as the password.
If the IP address on the printed network sheet is 192.168.192.168, it indicates that DHCP is off (i.e., the automatic acquisition of IP address using DHCP failed). Therefore enable DHCP by selecting Auto for the Acquiring the IP Address option.
Note: If a static IP is to be used instead, then.... Kevin would like to know steps or see screenshot of setting a static IP.
For the Acquire DNS Server Address Automatically option, select Enable. If there is no Acquire DNS Server Address Automatically option, then enter, 8.8.8.8 (Google public DNS) and 1.1.1.1 (Cloudfare public DNS) in the DNS Server Addresses (Order of Use) fields.
Open the Time Setting screen and select pool.ntp.org for time synchronization, and select the time zone. Kevin would like to see screenshot of this.
Open the Server Direct Print screen and enter the following values:
Server Direct Print - select Enable.
Server 1 URL - enter the Epson Direct Server URL that was created step 2.5 above.
Server 1 Interval - enter lowest value allowed (sets how fast the tickets print).
ID and Password - leave blank.
Server2 and Server3 - leave blank.
Server Authentication - select Enable.
Step 4: Test the Printer
Click Access Test. Kevin would like to see screenshot of where "Access Test" is.
The message "Success" should be returned. If so, continue with the step 2 below.
If an SSL or certificate error is returned, then contact MealSuite Support. MealSuite support will confirm the time settings, and then the firmware.
Status Notification: turn it on, same URL, ID blank, interval 30 seconds. This lets MealSuite show paper-out or cover-open.
Click Set / Apply. The printer may restart.
In your Core account, open the Printers screen to confirm that the status is Online (see Checking the Printer Status).
Run a test print, either a POS receipt or KMS ticket, depending on where the printer is used.
