About Pack Size and Weight for a Vendor Product
The pack size and weight of a vendor product is important because it is used to calculate the ingredient costs in a recipe.
Pack size and weight consists of multiple parts. When a pack size for a vendor product is received on an order guide or product catalog, the MealSuite system parses that information so that it can be used for ingredient cost calculations.
The tables below of example vendor products breaks down each of their pack sizes so as to give you an understanding of how vendor pack sizes and weights are accommodated in the MealSuite system.

Understanding of MealSuite Vendor Product Fields
The vendor pack size will be parsed to the appropriate MealSuite vendor product fields indicated in the screenshot below so that the system can calculate the ingredient costs in a recipe. (Note that an end-user will be exposed to these fields when manually adding a vendor product).
Also note that these fields are industry nomenclature and as such it is recommended not to attempt to take the nomenclature literally, and instead rely on the level association (level 1, level 2, level 3) to understand how a vendor pack size is parsed.
If the Stock Unit field is a special unit of measurement (SuoM), such as Each or CT (count), then the system allows a custom unit of measurement to be created:
