Does Stripe support Apple Pay® and Google Pay™
Yes. Stripe supports Apple Pay and Google Pay.
What cards are supported by Stripe?
Please see the following Stripe proprietary article on supported cards: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/cards
How does Stripe encrypt data?
See https://support.stripe.com/questions/stripe-terminal-payments-and-pci-compliance
Can you manually enter a credit card number in a Stripe terminal reader?
To allow credit card numbers to be manually entered on a Stripe reader, please reach out to MealSuite Support. If you are MealSuite Support, please enable the option Allow manual card transactions on pin-pad when permitted in the POS Location settings.
Once the option has been enabled, the means to manually enter a credit card number in a Stripe reader is as follows:
- After selecting Credit Card as the payment option, select the Manual Credit Card Entry check box, and select the Stripe Payment terminal.
- Tap Make Payment, and the Stripe Credit Card Transaction window appear for you to enter the credit card number and other details.
Note: When manually entering a credit card number, the Stripe transaction fee will be higher than when made with the physical card. See the following Stripe proprietary article for more information: https://stripe.com/en-ca/resources/more/what-are-card-not-present-transactions#cnp-transaction-processing-fees-and-costs.
Does the POS system support refunding of a transaction made with a Canadian debit card on a Stripe Terminal?
No. Another method must be used to refund the customer such as a credit to their charge account, or a gift card.
What are the Stripe transaction fees?
The Stripe transaction fees can be found in the following Stripe propriety article: https://stripe.com/en-ca/resources/more/payment-gateway-fees#stripes-payment-gateway-fees
Can the owner of the Stripe account be changed?
Yes. Please see the following Stripe proprietary article: https://support.stripe.com/questions/change-the-owner-of-a-stripe-account
What is best practices/recommendations for a corporate account to manage Stripe deposits from its facility accounts?
This depends on where the funds are to land. If separate bank accounts are involved (i.e., one for each facility), then each will require a separate Stripe account.
If the corporation desires all deposits going to a single bank account, then one Stripe account will be used amongst the facilities.
For either scenario, the corporate account in the MealSuite system can access reporting of their child facilities to determine revenue allocations/transfers and reconciliation.
Why is my Stripe reader losing its power charge quickly?
To power a Stripe terminal reader, attach to a wall power outlet using a USB Type-C cable and charger block.
Instructions to set up a Stripe terminal reader, including providing power and battery life length, are covered in the Stripe proprietary documentation via the following link: https://stripe.com/docs/terminal/payments/setup-reader/bbpos-wisepos-e.
WARNING: Do not attempt to power a Stripe terminal reader with an Elo® expansion module. The expansion module will not provide enough power.
Is there an ability to limit the credit card transaction amount for a Stripe reader?
No. Any limit to a transaction amount is from the limit set on the credit card itself, and is not a function that can be enabled for a Stripe reader. Note that for a MealSuite POS location, there is a $30,000 limit for a credit card transaction.
How long does it take Stripe to ship hardware orders?
Hardware orders take two to four business days to receive, with an average of two days to receive the order.
A hardware order takes 24 hours to process and ship out. As an example, if you order on Monday, then the order will ship out Tuesday. Therefore, the order will arrive Wednesday or Thursday.
