This article explains how to swap meal services (breakfast, lunch or dinner) on the same day of an existing menu. For example, swap lunch with dinner on week 2 Thursday.

Swapping Meal Services (Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner) on the Same Day of an Existing Menu

  1. Open the menu to the menu day view.
  2. Click the Copy Menu Items button. The Copy Menu Items slide-out panel appears.

  3. From the Select Meals to Copy drop-down, select the two meal services that will be swapped. For example, if swapping lunch and dinner, then select Lunch and Dinner (as per screenshot below).

  4. Scroll to the Step 2: Copy To section, and select the following:
    • Copy to Weeks - select the week of the day of the meal services being swapped. In keeping with the above example of swapping week 2 Thursday meal services, you would select Week 2. 
    • Copy to Days - select the day of the meal services being swapped. In keeping with the above example of swapping week 2 Thursday meal services, you would select Thursday. 
    • For the first meal service field, select the meal service it is to be copied to (e.g., Lunch to Dinner). For the second meal service field, select the meal service it is to be copied to (e.g., Dinner to Lunch).

  5. Select the Replace existing menu items option. For an item to be replaced, its menu category and choice assignments between the source and destination must match exactly. For example:
      • Menu Item in Entrée category and assigned to choice 1 will only replace the menu item in the Entrée category that is assigned to choice 1.
      • Menu Item in Entrée category and assigned to choice 2 will only replace the menu item in the Entrée category that is assigned to choice 2.
      • Menu Item in Entrée category and assigned to choice 1 and to choice 2 will only replace the menu item in the Entrée category that is assigned to choice 1 and to choice 2.

  6. Scroll down and click the Copy button. If all menu categories and choices match between the meal services, then a success message appears stating the the items were successfully copied.
