About Swapping Meal Services from Different Days on Existing Menu
Swapping meal services from different days on an existing menu involves the following steps:
- First Step: Copy Items from First Day and Add to Second Day
- Second Step: Copy Items from Second Day and Replace Items on First Day
- Third Step: Remove Original Items from Second Day
First Step: Copy Items from First Day and Add to Second Day
Your first step is to add menu items from the meal service of first day (e.g., week 1 Monday lunch) to the meal service of the second day (e.g., week 2 Thursday dinner).
To do so, complete the following steps:
- Open the menu day to one of the days being swapped. In keeping with the above example of copying week 1 Monday to week 2 Thursday, select week 1 Monday.
- Click the Copy Menu Items button. The Copy Menu Items slide-out panel appears.
- From the Select Meals to Copy drop-down, select the meal service to be copied. In keeping with the example of Monday lunch to be copied, select Lunch.
- Scroll to the Step 2: Copy To section, and select the following:
- Copy to Weeks - select the week of the day to copy to. In keeping with the above example of copying week 1 Monday to week 2 Thursday, you would select Week 2.
- Copy to Days - select the day to copy to. In keeping with the above example of copying week 1 Monday to week 2 Thursday, you would select Thursday.
- In the meal service field, select the meal service to copy to. In keeping with the above example of copying Monday lunch to Thursday dinner, you would select Dinner.
- Select the Add to existing menu items option.
- Scroll to the bottom and click the Copy button. A success message appears stating that the items were successfully copied.
Second Step: Copy Items from Second Day and Replace Items on First Day
The second step is to select the menu items from the meal service of the second day (e.g., week 2 Thursday dinner) and copy and replace the items on the meal service of the first day (e.g., week 1 Monday lunch).
To do so, complete the following steps:
- Open the menu day to the second day of the days being swapped. In keeping with the example of copying week 2 Thursday dinner to week 1 Monday lunch, select week 2 Thursday.
- Click the Copy Menu Items button. The Copy Menu Items slide-out panel appears.
- From the Select Meals to Copy drop-down, select the meal service to be copied. In keeping with the example of Thursday dinner to be copied, select Dinner.
- Scroll to the meal service being copied (e.g., Dinner) and deselect the items that were recently copied over from the first step instructions.
- Scroll to the Step 2: Copy To section, and select the following:
- Copy to Weeks - select the week of the day to copy to. In keeping with the above example of copying week 2 Thursday to week 1 Monday, you would select Week 1.
- Copy to Days - select the day to copy to. In keeping with the above example of copying week 2 Thursday to week 1 Monday, you would select Monday.
- In the meal service field, select the meal service to copy to. In keeping with the above example of copying Thursday dinner to Monday lunch, you would select Lunch.
- Select the Replace Existing Menu Items option. For an item to be replaced, its menu category and choice assignments between the source and destination must match exactly. For example:
-
- Menu Item in Entrée category and assigned to choice 1 will only replace the menu item in the Entrée category that is assigned to choice 1.
- Menu Item in Entrée category and assigned to choice 2 will only replace the menu item in the Entrée category that is assigned to choice 2.
- Menu Item in Entrée category and assigned to choice 1 and to choice 2 will only replace the menu item in the Entrée category that is assigned to choice 1 and to choice 2.
-
- Scroll to the bottom and click the Copy button. A success message appears stating that the items were successfully copied.
Third Step: Remove Original Items from Second Day
The third and final step is to remove the original items from the meal service of the second day. In keeping with the above example of week 1 Monday lunch items being copied to week 2 Thursday dinner, you would open the menu day view of week 2 Thursday, and remove its original items. For instructions on removing item, see Removing Items from a Menu.
