About Overriding Production Area of a Menu Item
The production area that a menu item is assigned to can be overridden (reassigned) in the POS via the POS Manager module.
Note: When overriding a menu item's production area in the POS, that production area assignment only applies to the POS, and the menu item-production area assignment does not change in the Core system.
Overriding Production Area of a Menu Item
To override a menu item's production area using the POS Manager module, complete the following steps:
- In POS, from the Tools menu at the top right of the screen, select POS Manager. The POS Manager screen appears.
- From the menu on the right side, select POS Item Management. The POS Item Management screen appears.
- Select the desired date and meal service (Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner) to refresh the screen with menu items of the day/meal service.
- If your POS device has the ability to switch to different POS locations (which determines menu items, pricing, and the meal assembly location), ensure the desired POS location is selected in the Location field.
- For the menu item whose production area you want to override, tap its edit icon (first screenshot below), and the Production Area Override pop-up appears (second screenshot below).
- Select the desired production area and tap OK. You are returned to the POS Item Management screen, where the newly-assigned production area is listed, along with the text Overridden to indicate that it is not the original production area.
