Advanced Ordering (AO) Setup Screen
After logging into the Touch App, tap Advanced Ordering on the right side of the screen (first screenshot below). The Advanced Ordering (AO) setup screen appears with the settings (second screenshot below) that allow you to generate a list of residents/patients to take orders for.
Date Range and Meal Periods
Your first steps are to select the date or the date range from which to take advanced orders:
- From the Start Date field at top left corner, select the start date.
- From the Start Meal section, select the first meal period (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) to be captured on the start date
- From the End Date field, select the end date. If selecting a single date, then the end date will be the same as the start date.
- From the End Meal section, select the last meal period (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) to be captured on the end date.
Options
From the Options section, the following options are available:
-
Suppress Dislikes - by default, items that are disliked by a resident/patient appear with a red thumbs down icon (
) beside the item. To hide the red thumbs down icon, select the Suppress Dislikes check box.
- Include Also Available - with this option selected, items from an active Also Available menu will be displayed for a resident/patient to order from.
-
Missing Orders Only - with this option selected, the following occurs:
- If a resident/patient has not placed their order for each meal period in the selected date or date range, then they will be listed on the AO screen to take missing orders for.
- If a resident/patient has placed their order for each meal period in the selected date or date range, then they will not be listed on the AO screen.
Determine the Resident/Patient List
Your next step is to determine the resident/patients who are to be listed on the AO screen to take orders for. You do this from the Locations section by selecting the residence areas of the resident/patient profiles.
Note: The order in which residence areas are presented on the setup screen can be adjusted. See Sorting the Residence Areas on AO Setup Screen below.
Generate List of Residents/Patients
With all the above steps completed, tap the Create Report button to refresh the Advanced Ordering screen with a list of the resident/patient profiles to take orders for. To select a resident/patient to take an advanced order for, or to see their placed advanced order, tap their Manage Order button. For steps on taking an advanced order for a resident/patient, see the following separate article: Taking an Advanced Order in the Touch App.

- In the Advanced Ordering section, you have the following options:
- Select the Suppress disliked foods option to have it be automatically selected on the Advanced Ordering screen.

Sorting the Residence Areas on AO Setup Screen
The order in which the residence areas are listed on the AO setup screen can be adjusted. This adjustment is performed in the Core system as follows.
- Open the Facility Builder screen (Tools & Setup > Facility Builder).
- Click the Delivery Sequence tab.
- Expand the sections as needed. The building and residence area levels are what is represented on a Touch report setup screen. Sort the buildings and residence areas to their desired order by clicking and holding a level, and then dragging and dropping it to the desired spot.
Note that the above steps only change the order of residence areas on the AO setup screen, and do not affect how the residents are listed when taking orders.
