Instant Ordering (IO) Setup Screen
After logging into the Touch App, tap Instant Ordering on the right side of the screen (first screenshot below). The Instant Ordering (IO) setup screen appears with the settings (second screenshot below) that allow you to generate a list of residents to take orders for.
Select Meal
From the Meal section, select the meal period (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) for which to take instant orders.
Select Meal Assembly Area
From the Select Meal Assembly field, select the kitchen or production area that the orders are to be sent to. Note that a meal assembly area is also known as a KMS location (KMS stands for kitchen management system).
Additional Options
From the Additional Options section, the following options are available:
-
Suppress Dislikes - by default, items that are disliked by a resident/patient appear with a red thumbs down icon (
) beside the item. To hide the red thumbs down icon, select the Suppress Dislikes check box.
-
Include Also Available - with this option selected, items from an active Also Available menu will be displayed for a resident/patient to order from.
Determine the Resident List
Your next step is to determine the residents who are to be listed on the IO screen to take orders for. You do this from the Meal Delivery Area section by selecting the meal delivery areas (i.e. dining areas) of the resident profiles.
Note that a bed icon () indicates that the meal delivery area is a residence area that allows for in-room service.
Selecting Residents to Take Instant Orders For
With all the above steps completed, tap the Get Report button to refresh the Instant Ordering screen, which displays two tabs for you to select resident(s) to take instant orders for:
-
Table tab - If a resident is assigned to a table (in the Core system), then that resident will be displayed in their assigned table from this tab. You can select an individual resident by tapping their Order link, or you can select all residents of a specific table by tapping its View Table button.
-
Residents tab - displays a list of all residents regardless if they are assigned to a table (in the Core system) or not. From this tab you have the following options to select a resident(s):
- Select an individual resident by tapping their Order link.
- Select all residents by tapping the Select All button.
- Select multiple residents by first tapping the Multiple Select button, then selecting the check boxes of the residents you want to select, and then tapping the Order Multiple button.
Configure Options to be Selected by Default on IO Setup Screen
The Suppress Dislikes and the Include Also Available options can be configured to be selected by default when the Instant Ordering setup screen is opened. This is configured in the Core system as follows:
- From the left navigation sidebar, select Tools & Setup > Touch Report Presets. The Report Presets screen appears.
- In the Instant Ordering section, you have the following options:
- Select the Suppress disliked foods option to have the Suppress Dislikes option be automatically selected on the Instant Ordering screen.
- Select the Include Also Available menu option to have the Include Also Available option be automatically selected on the Instant Ordering screen.
- Click the Update Touch Report Preset button to apply your changes.
Sorting the Dining Areas on IO Setup Screen
The order in which the dining areas (including residence area enabled as a dining area for in-room service) are listed on the IO setup screen can be adjusted. This adjustment is performed in the Core system as follows:
- Select Tools & Setup > Facility Builder. The Facility Builder screen appears.
- Select the Dining Areas tab. The existing dining areas are listed.
- Hold the = icon of a dining area to be sorted, and drag and drop it to the appropriate spot in the dining area order.
- Repeat the above steps until you have your desired order.
