About the POS Self-Service Kiosk
The POS self-service kiosk allows for diners to place the following order types on their own without the involvement of a POS operator:
- Dine-in orders
- Takeout orders
- Delivery orders
- Self-checkout for grab-and-go items.

How to Access the Tools Menu from a POS Self-Service Kiosk
The Tools menu from a POS self-service kiosk allows a POS operator to access the following settings:
- Support
- Print Last Receipt
- Payment Location
- Payment Terminal
- Cashout Report
- Cash Drawer
- Transaction Lookup
- Check Gift Card
- Switch POS Venue (i.e., select a different POS location)
- POS Manager
You can access the Tools menu from the home screen as follows:
- From the home screen, tap the Powered by MealSuite image five times (first screenshot below). The prompt to enter your POS operator ID appears (second screenshot below).
- Enter your POS operator ID and click Submit. The Tools menu appears on the right side.
- After accessing a setting from the Tools menu, you will be returned to the home screen. To return to the home screen without accessing a setting, you can either tap Logout or just tap on the home screen.

Configuring a POS self-service kiosk (SSK) is done as part of the main steps of configuring a POS location.
For SSK configuration, you would select Self Service Kiosk as the Type, and then complete the details in the Self Service Kiosk Configuration section. Full instructions on completing the Self Service Kiosk Configuration section can be found here.

No. For a self-service kiosk (SSK), an item with a variable price is filtered out and not available for selection.

No. For a self-service kiosk (SSK), an item with a price by weight is filtered out and not available for selection. Hence, a weigh scale does not work with an SSK.

Is the POS Manager module accessible from a POS self-service kiosk (SSK)?
Yes. This must be configured by MealSuite Support. If you are MealSuite Support, see the following article: Configuring a POS Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) to Allow Access to POS Manager Module.
How do you set up modifiers on an SSK?
A modifier grid is not available on a POS self-service kiosk (SSK). However, modifier prompts (i.e., forced modifiers) are available on an SSK.
How are the meal period times (breakfast, lunch, dinner) determined on a SSK ordering screen?
The meal period times are determined by the start and end times set for each meal period in a dining area/residence area enabled as a dining area in the core system (see Viewing the Start and End Times for Meal Services).
