Changing Wi-Fi Network of Elo® Touchscreen
To change the Wi-Fi network of your Elo touchscreen, complete the following steps:
- Ensure the touchscreen is powered on.
- At the back righthand side of the screen, press the Home and Power buttons at the same time.
Note: If the screen turns black, just tap the Power button to wake up the screen and try again, as it just means the Power button was pressed first.
- Enter the Control Panel password: EloView1.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap the Network setting at the bottom of the screen (first screenshot below). The list of Wi-Fi networks in range appears (second screenshot below).
- Select the Wi-Fi network that you want to connect to.
- Enter the password for the network and tap Connect.
- The selected Wi-Fi network has a checkmark beside it. In addition, the text WAN Connected is displayed at the top left of the screen.
- Exit the Settings screen by tapping the X at the top right corner.
- You are now at the main screen of the app (Touch, POS or Digital Menu), and connected to the internet.
Changing Font Size on an Elo Touchscreen
To change the font size on an Elo touchscreen, complete the following steps:
- Ensure the touchscreen is powered on.
- At the back righthand side of the screen, press the Home and Power buttons at the same time.
Note: If the screen turns black, just tap the Power button to wake up the screen and try again, as it just means the Power button was pressed first.
- Enter the Control Panel password: EloView1.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap the Apps icon.
- Tap the Settings icon at top left of screen.
- Select Display from the list.
- Select Advanced.
- Select Font Size.
- Adjust the slider left to decrease the font size. Adjust the slider to the right to increase the font size.
- Exit the screen by tapping X at the bottom right corner.
Changing Display Size of an Elo Touchscreen
To change the display size of an Elo touchscreen, complete the following steps:
- Ensure the touchscreen is powered on.
- At the back righthand side of the screen, press the Home and Power buttons at the same time.

- Enter the Control Panel password: EloView1.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap the Apps icon.
- Tap the Settings icon at top left of screen.
- Select Display from the list.
- Select Advanced.
- Select Display Size.
- Adjust the slider left to decrease the display size. Adjust the slider to the right to increase the display size.
- Exit the screen by tapping X at the bottom right corner.
Adjusting the Volume of an Elo Touchscreen
To adjust the volume of an Elo touchscreen, complete the following steps:
- Ensure the touchscreen is powered on.
- At the back righthand side of the screen, press the Home and Power buttons at the same time.

- Enter the Control Panel password: EloView1.
- At the bottom of the screen select the Volume setting.
- Adjust the slider left to decrease the volume. Adjust the slider to the right to increase the volume.
- Exit the screen by tapping X at the bottom right corner.
Setting Color Inversion (aka, Dark Screen Mode) on an Elo Touchscreen
To set color inversion (aka, dark screen mode) on an Elo touchscreen, complete the following steps:
- Ensure the touchscreen is powered on.
- At the back righthand side of the screen, press the Home and Power buttons at the same time.
Note: If the screen turns black, just tap the Power button to wake up the screen and try again, as it just means the Power button was pressed first.
- Enter the Control Panel password: EloView1.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap the Apps icon.
- Tap the Settings icon at top left of screen.
- Select Accessibility from the list.
- Select Color Inversion.
- Exit the screen by tapping X at the bottom right corner.
Factory Reset Steps for Elo Touchscreen
If instructed by MealSuite support to perform a reset, then do so by completing the following steps:
- Unplug power.
- Hold HOME key and reconnect power.
- Continue holding HOME key until unit starts Android System Recovery
- Press HOME key to select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”.
- Press POWER key to select.
- Press HOME key until “YES – delete all customer data” is selected.
- Press POWER key to select.
- After data wipe is complete, press HOME to “reboot system now”.
Retrieving Serial Number on Elo Touchscreen
The serial number for an Elo touchscreen may be requested by MealSuite Support for toubleshooting purposes.
The serial number can be found on the original box the device is shipped in, from the back of the device itself, or by viewing the control panel. If your device is already mounted or out of the original packaging, then retrieve the serial number from the control panel, explained as follows:
Note: For all touchscreens that are 27" or larger, MealSuite will also require the backpack serial number for installation.
To retrieve the serial number:
- Ensure the touchscreen monitor is powered on.
- Locate the two physical “home” and “power” buttons on the bottom right corner off the touch monitor and press them at the same time. The Control Panel screen opens.
- The serial number is in the background, as seen in screenshot below.
Alert Sound for a New Order
Mute or Unmute the Alert Sound for a New Order
When a new order (i.e., ticket) appears on the KMS touchscreen, a notification sound can be played to alert kitchen staff.
- By default, the notification sound is disabled, as indicated by the muted bell icon at the top right of screen:
- To enable the notification sound, tap the muted bell icon to change it to an unmuted bell icon:
Changing Default Sound of Alert Sound for New order
The default sound that plays when a new order (i.e., ticket) is received on the KMS touchscreen can be changed. To do so, complete the following steps:
- Hold down the two buttons on the back of the touchscreen until the Control Panel pop-up appears onscreen.
- Enter the password: mealsuite.
- Tap Apps > Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced.
- Tap Default notification sound. A list of notifications appears.
- Tap a notification sound to hear it and select it.
- Tap OK after you made your selection.
- Tap the blue X at the bottom right corner to return to the Control Panel pop-up.
- Tap Cancel on the Control Panel pop-up to exit the pop-up.
Connecting Elo Touchscreen Monitor to Wi-Fi (if not Hardwired to Network)
Although Elo touchscreen monitors have built-in Wi-Fi, MealSuite recommends hardwiring the monitors, especially in the kitchen or any environment that has kitchen-like appliances, such as a toaster. If not hardwired, then such devices can impact the quality of the signal and result in a poor user experience.
However, if not possible to hardwire the monitor, you can connect it to your local Wi-Fi network. To do so, you will first require the control panel password from MealSuite Support. With the password in hand, complete the following steps to connect to your Wi-Fi network:
- Ensure the touchscreen is powered on.
- Locate the two physical “home” and “power” buttons on the corner off the touch monitor and press them at the same time.
- Enter the password for the control panel.
- From the menu bar at the bottom of the Control Panel screen, tap the network icon.
- Select your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap OK or Save.
- To exit the control panel screen, tap X at the top right.
Enable Web and App Capability with the Elo Backpack®
About the Elo Backpack
The Elo Backpack® is an Android media player that connects to an Elo touchscreen to enable web and app capability on the touchscreen.
The Elo Backpack is wired to the touchscreen via the HDMI cable and USB cable. The USB cable provides touch functionality to the touchscreen; therefore ensure to connect it.
Retrieving Serial Number of Elo Backpack
The serial number for an Elo backpack may be requested by MealSuite Support for troubleshooting purposes.
The serial number can be found on the original box the device is shipped in, from the back of the device itself, or by viewing the control panel. If your device is already mounted or out of the original packaging, then retrieve the serial number from the control panel, explained as follows:
- Press and hold both the home and power buttons on the backpack.
- The Control Panel screen opens.
- The serial number is in the background, as seen in second screenshot below.

Option for I-Series Touchscreen: Provide Power with the Elo Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Module
The Elo® power-over-ethernet (PoE) module allows power to be delivered to an Elo I-series touchscreen; thereby eliminating the need for a separate power outlet or a dedicated circuit to power the touchscreen.
The PoE module mounts onto the rear of the touchscreen display. Instructions to do so come with the PoE module and are also available for download from the Elo PoE module page of the Elo site.
The available features on the touchscreen when a PoE module depends on the touchscreen model, as per the table below (courtesy of Elo; right-click table to open in new tab for full size). This table can also be referred to on the Elo PoE module page of the Elo site.
