Viewing Issued Gift Cards and Balances

When a new gift card is issued to a customer at a POS location, a gift card record is created, which can viewed in the Issued Gift Cards section of the Gift Cards screen (accessed via POS Settings > Gift Cards in the Touch Admin software). The following columns are displayed for each gift card record:

  • Balances - shows the balance for a gift card. 
  • Issued By Facility - indicates the facility that issued the gift card, the issued date, and any expiry date on the gift card.
  • Notes - displays any notes that were entered for the gift card product when it was originally created.
  • Identification - displays the unique code of the gift card and any secure code.

Note: The balance of a gift card can be checked on the POS front-end. To do so see POS - Checking the Balance of a Gift Card.

Viewing Transaction Records of a Gift Card

To view the transactions records of an issued gift card:

  1. In the Touch Admin software, select POS Settings > Gift Cards. The Issued Gift Card section lists each issued gift card. 
  2. Click the View Detail button of the gift card whose transactions you want to view. The gift card screen appears. 
  3. Transaction records made with the gift card are listed in the Transactions section. Each transaction record display the following: 
    • Transaction ID
    • Account Name
    • POS location
    • Date of Transaction
    • Amount
    • Note (that was manually entered)

Gift Card Balance and Transaction Reports

Gift card balance and transactions reports are available from the POS reporting in the Core system. See POS Reporting (from Core System).
