Merging Tickets from Same Table for a Single Payment
Tickets at the same table can be merged for a single payment. To merge tickets, complete the following steps:
- On the checkout screen, the Merge Seats button is located at the top right of the screen (first screenshot below). Tap this button and the Merge Seats pop-up window appears (second screenshot below), listing the seats/diners at the table.
- Tap the button of the seat/diner who is paying (i.e., the host diner).
- Select the seats/diners whose tickets (i.e., source tickets) will be merged to the host diner's ticket.
- Tap the Continue button. The Confirm Merge Seats pop-up window appears.
- Tap the Confirm Merge button to apply the merge and close the window. On the Checkout screen, the host diner's ticket displays the items that were merged from the source tickets. The source tickets that have been merged do not display items and have no pay option.
- If wanting to remove a source ticket from the merge, you have two options:
- Tap the Undo Merge button of the source ticket to be removed from the merge (screenshot below),
or
- Tap the Edit Merged Seats button at the top right of the screen, and the Edit Merged Seats pop-up window appears (second screenshot below). From here you can individually remove source tickets by clicking their Remove button, or you can cancel the whole merge by tapping the Remove all - un-merge everyone button.
- Tap the Undo Merge button of the source ticket to be removed from the merge (screenshot below),
- If wanting to add more source tickets to the merge, click the Edit Merged Seats button at the top right of the Checkout screen, and the Edit Merged Seats pop-up window appears for you to add other seats/diners to the merge. Tap Save Changes to apply your changes.
Note the following:
The order history for a diner whose ticket was merged will continue to reflected their ordered items.
Revenue/payment reports attribute the payment to the diner who paid the merged ticket.
The function to unmerge is blocked if the merged ticket is partially paid, as that would negative affect the calculations.
Voiding is blocked on any ticket that currently has merged-in items; staff must un-merge first to proceed with a void.
Enable Merge Tickets Function for the POS Revenue Center
-

FAQs
What happens if there is a discount involved?
- Any discounts applied to items on the host diner's ticket continue to be applied (i.e., the discount is not lost).
- If a discount is applied to an item on a source ticket, or a discount is applied to the whole source ticket, that discount will be lost on the merged ticket.
- If the host diner's ticket has a whole discount applied, then that whole discount will apply to all items on the merged ticket.
Can tickets be merged from separate tables?
No, that functionality is not yet available.
What happens if diners who are involved in the merge have meal plans?
- If a diner of a source ticket has a meal plan, and the host diner of the merged ticket does not have a meal plan, then the meal plan of the diner of the source ticket is not applied and their balance is unaffected. The host diner pays the merged ticket straight out.
- If a host diner of the merged ticket has a meal plan, then that meal plan will cover the items on the merged ticket as per standard.
