About Services
A service is an offering in the POS, such as hair, spa, exercise appointments, etc. If a POS Operator has accessed to the POS Manager module in POS, then they can create, edit and delete services.
Creating a Service
To create a service, complete the following steps:
- In POS, from the Tools menu at the top right of the screen, select POS Manager. The POS Manager screen appears.
- From the menu on the right side, select Schedules & Services (screenshot below). The Schedules & Services Management screen appears.
Note: If you do not see the Schedules & Services option, it indicates your user profile is not enabled with the option. Contact MealSuite Support to enable the Schedules & Services option. If you are MealSuite Support, click here for an internal article on enabling Schedules & Services.
- Tap the Services tab. Any existing services are listed.
- Tap the Add Service button. The Add/Edit Service screen appears.
- Enter or select the following:
- Service name - enter the name of the service (e.g., Haircut - Women).
- Category - select the appropriate category for the service. Note that categories are created in Touch Admin by a user with appropriate permissions (see Creating Non-Menu Categories in POS for Products and Services).
- Services Duration - select the length of time to block on the appointment calendar when the service is selected.
- GL Account Override - if the service is to override the GL account for its category, enter that GL account here. Note that GL accounts are first set up by your MealSuite CSM (customer success manager) to be available for assigning to a a product (if you are a MealSuite CSM, click here for the internal article on setting up GL accounts).
- Billing Code Override - if the service is to override the billing code for its assigned category, enter that billing code here. A billing code is used on a financial export interface (i.e., Bill to Room Export Interface) to indicate what billing code a POS service is associated with. Note that billing codes are set up by your MealSuite (CSM) customer success manager (if you are a MealSuite CSM, click here for the internal article on setting up billing codes).

Tax Override - if the service is to override the sales tax for its category, enter that sales tax here.
- Tap the Save button.
- Tap the left arrow to return to the Services screen, where the newly-created service is listed.

Editing a Service
To edit an existing service, complete the following steps:
- In POS, from the Tools menu at the top right of the screen, select POS Manager. The POS Manager screen appears.
- From the menu on the right side, select Schedules & Services. The Schedules & Services Management screen appears.
- Tap the Services tab. Any existing service are listed.
- Tap the edit icon (
) of the service to edit. The Add/Edit Service screen appears.
- Make your changes as needed.
- Tap the Save button to apply your changes.
Deleting a Service
To delete an existing service, complete the following steps:
- In POS, from the Tools menu at the top right of the screen, select POS Manager. The POS Manager screen appears.
- From the menu on the right side, select Schedules & Services. The Schedules & Services Management screen appears.
- Tap the Services tab. Any existing services are listed.
- Tap the delete icon (
) of the service to delete. A confirmation message appears. Click OK to the message to delete the service.
