Applying a Tag to a Recipe for Search and Identification Purposes

For identification and search purposes, you can apply IDDSI tags, diet order tags, or custom tags to a master recipe or a "My Recipe" recipe (i.e., a recipe owned by your account).

To apply a tag to a recipe, complete the following steps: 

  1. Locate and open the recipe you want to apply a tag to.
  2. In the Add/Edit Tags section, click the Add New button, and a drop-down section appears that allows you to search for and select the desired tags from the following sub-sections: IDDSI Tags, Diet Order Tags, and Custom Tags.

  3. After selecting the desired tags, click the Save button at the top right corner of the recipe window to apply the tags and save the recipe. 

Creating a Diet Tag

To create a custom diet tag that can then be applied to a recipe or food, complete the following steps:

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right. 
  2. From the Settings panel, select Menu & Recipes Settings > Tags > Diets. The Diet Tags screen appears. 
  3. Click the Add Tag button. Add Tag screen appears. 
  4. Enter or select the following::
    • Name - enter the name of the tag.
    • Display Name - enter the abbreviated display name for the tag (no more than eight characters). 
    • Tag color - select the color of the tag. Enter a HEX (hexadecimal) value if needed. 
    • ID - enter the numerical ID to display on the tag.
    • Linked Diet - select the diet type to associate with the tag. 
    • Definition - enter any description about the tag.
  5. Click the Create button. The newly-created tag is listed on the Diet Tags screen. 

Creating a Texture Tag

To create a custom texture tag that can then be applied to a recipe or food, complete the following steps:

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right. 
  2. From the Settings panel, select Menu & Recipes Settings > Tags > Texture. The Texture Tags screen appears. 
  3. Click the Add Tag button. Add Tag screen appears. 
  4. Enter or select the following::
    • Name - enter the name of the tag.
    • Display Name - enter the abbreviated display name for the tag (no more than eight characters). 
    • Type - select Regular or IDDSI
    • Tag color - select the color of the tag. Enter a HEX (hexadecimal) value if needed. 
    • ID - enter the numerical ID to display on the tag.
    • Linked Texture - select the texture type to associate with the tag. 
    • Definition - enter any description about the tag.
    • Standard Preparation - enter any standard preparation steps associated with the tag. 
  5. Click the Create button. The newly-created tag is listed on the Texture Tags screen. 

Creating a Fluid Tag

To create a custom fluid tag that can then be applied to a recipe or food, complete the following steps:

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right. 
  2. From the Settings panel, select Menu & Recipes Settings > Tags > Fluid. The Fluid Tags screen appears. 
  3. Click the Add Tag button. Add Tag screen appears. 
  4. Enter or select the following::
    • Name - enter the name of the tag.
    • Display Name - enter the abbreviated display name for the tag (no more than eight characters). 
    • Type - select Regular or IDDSI
    • Tag color - select the color of the tag. Enter a HEX (hexadecimal) value if needed. 
    • ID - enter the numerical ID to display on the tag.
    • Linked Fluid - select the fluid type to associate with the tag. 
    • Definition - enter any description about the tag.
    • Standard Preparation - enter any standard preparation steps associated with the tag. 
  5. Click the Create button. The newly-created tag is listed on the Fluid Tags screen. 

Creating a Custom Tag

To create a custom tag that can then be applied to a recipe or food, complete the following steps:

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right. 
  2. From the Settings panel, select Menu & Recipes Settings > Tags > Custom. The Custom Tags screen appears. 
  3. Click the Add Tag button. Add Tag screen appears. 
  4. Enter or select the following::
    • Name - enter the name of the tag.
    • Display Name - enter the abbreviated display name for the tag (no more than eight characters). 
    • Tag color - select the color of the tag. Enter a HEX (hexadecimal) value if needed. 
    • Icon - select an icon for the tag. 
    • Definition - enter any description about the tag.
    • Standard Preparation - enter any standard preparation steps associated with the tag. 
  5. Click the Create button. The newly-created tag is listed on the Custom Tags screen. 

Unpublishing a Tag

You have the ability to unpublish a tag (i.e., IDDSI tags, diet order tags, custom tags). If so then the tag will not display on the various screens and reports in the system. To unpublish a tag: 

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right. 
  2. From the Settings panel, select Menu & Recipes Settings > Tags > and then either Diet, Texture, Fluid, or Custom depending on the tag type to be unpublished. The screen specific to the selected tag type appears. 
  3. For the tag to be unpublished, click its ellipsis in the Actions column and select Unpublish. The tag is unpublished.

Publishing a Tag

If a tag is unpublished, then it can be published. To publish a tag:

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right. 
  2. From the Settings panel, select Menu & Recipes Settings > Tags > and then either Diet, Texture, Fluid, or Custom depending on the tag type to be published. The screen specific to the selected tag type appears. 
  3. For the tag to be published, click its ellipsis in the Actions column and select Publish. The tag is published.

Deleting a Tag

When a tag is created by your account, then that tag can be deleted by your account. To delete a tag:

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right. 
  2. From the Settings panel, select Menu & Recipes Settings > Tags > and then either Diet, Texture, Fluid, or Custom depending on the tag type to be deleted. The screen specific to the selected tag type appears. 
  3. For the tag to be deleted, click its ellipsis in the Actions column and select Delete. A confirmation message appears.

  4. Click Yes, Delete [Type] Tag to the confirmation message. The tag is deleted.
