Applying a Tag to a Recipe for Search and Identification Purposes
For identification and search purposes, you can apply IDDSI tags, diet order tags, or custom tags to a master recipe or a "My Recipe" recipe (i.e., a recipe owned by your account).
To apply a tag to a recipe, complete the following steps:
- Locate and open the recipe you want to apply a tag to.
- In the Add/Edit Tags section, click the Add New button, and a drop-down section appears that allows you to search for and select the desired tags from the following sub-sections: IDDSI Tags, Diet Order Tags, and Custom Tags.
- After selecting the desired tags, click the Save button at the top right corner of the recipe window to apply the tags and save the recipe.
Creating a Custom Tag
To create a custom tag with a food or beverage icon that can then be applied to a recipe or food, complete the following steps:
- From the left navigation sidebar, select Tools & Setup > Recipe Tools.
- Click the Tags tab.
- Click the Add New button. The Create Diet Order Tag slide-out panel appears.
- Enter or select the following::
- Name - enter the name of the tag.
- Tag Type - select Custom
- Display Name - enter the abbreviated display name for the tag (no more than eight characters).

Icon - select an icon for the tag (if an icon is not required, select No Icon).
- Tag color - select the color of the tag.
- ID - enter the numerical ID to display on the tag.
- Definition - enter any description about the tag.
- Click the Save button. The newly-added tag is listed in the Custom tab onscreen.
Unpublishing a Tag
You have the ability to unpublish a tag (i.e., IDDSI tags, diet order tags, custom tags). If so then the tag will not display on the various screens and reports in the system. To unpublish a tag:
- From the left navigation sidebar, select Tools & Setup > Recipe Tools.
- Click the Tags tab. The Tags screen appears.
- Search for and click the name of the tag you want to unpublish. The slide-out panel for the tag appears.
- Click the Unpublish button. The button changes to Publish. The tag is now unpublished.
Note: Another means to unpublish a tag is to select its gear icon in the Actions column and select Unpublish.
Publishing a Tag
If a tag is unpublished, then it can be published. To publish a tag:
- From the left navigation sidebar, select Tools & Setup > Recipe Tools.
- Click the Tags tab. The Tags screen appears.
- Search for and click the name of the tag you want to publish. The slide-out panel for the tag appears.
- Click the Publish button. The button changes to Unpublish. The tag is now published.
Note: Another means to publish a tag is to select its gear icon in the Actions column and select Publish.
Deleting a Tag
When a tag is created by your account, then that tag can be deleted by your account. To delete a tag:
- From the left navigation sidebar, Tools & Setup > Recipe Tools.
- Click the Tags tab. The Tags screen appears.
- Search for and click the name of the tag you want to delete. The slide-out panel for the tag appears.
- Click the Delete button. A confirmation message appears.
- Click Delete to the confirmation message to delete the tag.
Note that another means to delete a tag, is to select its gear icon in the Actions column and select Delete.
