Scaling a "My Recipe" Recipe by Yield
For a "My Recipe" recipe (i.e., a recipe owned by your account), you can scale the recipe by yield. When you scale the recipe by yield, the amounts for each ingredient in the recipe will scale accordingly to accommodate the new yield number, and the estimated serving size will remain as is.
Note that because adjusting the yield will adjust the ingredients, the recipe cost will be affected accordingly.
To scale the recipe by yield, complete the following steps:
- Open the desired recipe.
- Click the adjust icon (
) beside Yield (first screenshot below). The Yield Adjustment pop-up appears (second screenshot below).
- In the Scale To field, enter the new serving amount and click the Calculate button. The pop-up refreshes with the new amounts for each item in the Scaled Qty column.
- To apply the new amounts to the ingredients in the recipe (as per screenshot below) and update the recipe with the new yield number, click the Update Recipe Yield button.
System Calculation for Scaling Ingredient Amounts
When scaling a recipe, the amount of each ingredient is adjusted accordingly. The calculation that is used to adjust the amount of an ingredient is as follows:
New yield / original yield x ingredient original amount = new ingredient amount.
For example:

Divided by original yield |
Multiplied by ingredient original amount |
