About the Portion Size Description
The portion size description for a recipe allows you to enter a description of what one portion size of a recipe consists of, which can be useful in a production kitchen.
Examples:
- The portion size of a ham and cheese sandwich can be described as follows: “2 slices of bread, 1 oz of meat, and 1 oz of cheese”.
- A specific serving utensil is needed to portion out an ingredient: 1#10 scoop of coleslaw and 2 slices of ham.
Adding or Editing a Portion Size Description
The portion size description for a recipe can be added or edited on a master recipe or a "my recipe".
To quickly identify recipes without portion size descriptions, you can set the preferred columns to include the Portion Size Description column on the recipes screen, and then use the necessary filters (such as Recipe Box, Categories and Search by Menu) to identify common recipes (right-click image and open in new tab to expand).
