If a resident/patient is not to be served a meal service (breakfast, lunch, dinner) on a specific day, then this can be indicated on their profile, For example, on Sunday the resident always has dinner with their family outside of the facility. For a meal period that is "no meal service", the following occurs:
- The text "No Meal" displays for the meal period and day on the personal menu.
- No food items will be shown for that resident/patient on the Touch app Instant Ordering and Advanced Ordering screens.
- No Tray Menu Ticket Report (People) or Person-Specific Select Menus Report will generate for the resident/patient.
Note: The "no meal service" settings for a resident/patient does does not apply to the POS (i.e., the resident is not prevented from ordering at a POS).
To set up no meal service, complete the following steps:
- Open the person’s profile.
- Below the Dining Room field, click the Assign by Meal link (first screenshot below). The Assign Dining Area by Meal window appears (second screenshot below).
- For the meal period/day of the week combination that there is no meal service for the person, select No Meal in the associated cell.
- Click Apply to apply your changes.
- Click Save at the top right of the panel to save your changes. Note that when a resident/patient is assigned different dining areas or no meal service across meal periods and day of the week combinations, the text Various displaying in the Dining Room field.
