Viewing Details of a Connect Message
When a resident/patient profile is updated on the EHR, then a message is sent to MealSuite Connect for it to update the associated resident/patient profile in your Mealsuite account (see About MealSuite Connect for more information).
You have the ability to investigate the EHR message details to learn what changes were made, when the changes were made, and who acknowledged the message. You can investigate a message on the Connect screen by completing the following steps:
- Open the Connect screen (People > Connect).
- Open the filters, and set the Status filter to Acknowledged and Ignored. Click GO to apply your changes.
- Ensure that the following columns are set on the screen (click here to learn how to set columns):
- Processed At - displays the time and date the message was processed.
- Message Details - displays the message details that Connect processed from the EHR. For example, Changed Texture from 'Regular' to 'Mechanical Soft'.
- Acknowledged by - when an EHR message is acknowledged, then this column displays the date and time the message was acknowledged, and by whom.
-
EHR ID - displays the resident or patient's EHR ID.
- From the Search field, search for the last name of the resident in question to display their Connect messages.
For PCC: Comparing Profile Data between PCC and MealSuite
If your account utilizes a Connect interface to PointClickCare (PCC), then a PointClickCare tab is available on a profile screen to display the data for a PCC resident/patient profile and the equivalent MealSuite resident/patient profile.
If profile information is changed manually on the MealSuite side, and that information differs from the PCC side, a mismatch exists. MealSuite data that is mismatched is displayed in red text.
If wanting to perform a sync to update all MealSuite fields to match the PCC data, click the Sync button.
For more information and instructions on viewing profile data between PCC and your account, see Viewing Profile Data Between PCC and MealSuite.
Why Does a Resident now have NPO as their Diet?
This typically means the following scenario has occurred:
- The resident/patient had an LOA, and your EHR system processed the LOA as a discharge, which triggers the Connect interface to the EHR to archive the profile in your MealSuite account.
- When the resident was readmitted, the Connect interface received an Admit message for the profile, and the Connect setting in your account for an Admit message is to assign the default diet order, which is often NPO, as that is the lowest risk option for safety reasons.
- The resident/patient in the EHR is not assigned an active diet order, and as such their profile in your MealSuite account is not updated and therefore will continue to be NPO.
Because your account is using a Connect interface to pull in diet order assignments from your EHR, manually assigning their diet order in your MealSuite account will not be permanent. You instead must assign diet orders in your EHR. The Connect interface will then perform a synch to update the diet order in your MealSuite account.
EHR to MealSuite Mapping Relationships
Viewing Mapping Relationships
The Connect Mapping screen allows you to view existing mapping relationships between source entities (people, rooms, allergies, diet orders) in the EHR system and the destination entities in the MealSuite system. See Viewing Connect Mapping Relationships for more information and instructions.
Remapping a Mapping Relationship
You have the ability to remap an existing Connect mapping relationship. For example, assume EHR room 304 is incorrectly mapped to MealSuite room 314, and therefore you want to remap it to the correct MealSuite room (304). See Remapping a Connect Mapping Relationship for more information and instructions.
