What is MealSuite Connect?
MealSuite Connect is an interface that enables your MealSuite account to connect with an EHR (electronic health record) system to receive resident/patient messages from the EHR and automatically update the resident/patient profiles in your account with details from those messages.
The message types supported by a MealSuite Connect interface depend on your MealSuite product license. At a minimum, a MealSuite Connect interface processes ADT (admit, discharge, transfer) messages from the EHR. The full message type list that can be supported by a MealSuite Connect interface is as follows:
- Admit
- Discharge
- Transfer
- Update (patient demographic information)
- Leave of Absence (Leave)
- Leave of Absence (Return)
- Allergy Update
- Diet Order Update (diet, texture, fluid, diet interventions)
A MealSuite Connect interface is associated with a people group, and updates the people profiles only within that people group. By associating Connect interfaces with people groups, your account therefore has the ability to connect with multiple EHR systems. For example, in a CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community), there can be retirement group, long-term care group, and acute care group, each getting their information from a different EHR system.
