About Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) Nutritional Parameters
On a menu, the system monitors the nutrient values of a diet type to ensure the diet type is adhered to (see Nutrient Analysis of Menu Items).
The parameter range (low, ideal, max) of a nutrient is determined by a dietary intake reference (DRI) template applied to each diet type.
The default DRI template applied to each diet type by the system is the "DRI Female, 51-70 Yrs" template. However, a parent system or corporate account can change the DRI template for diet types, which will be reflected in their child facility accounts.

Viewing the DRI Template Applied to a Diet Type
To view the DRI Template that is applied to a diet type, complete the following steps:
- Select Tools & Setup > Diet Orders. The Diet Order Setting screen appears.
- Ensure you are on the Diets and Textures tab.
- Ensure the Diet Category is Standard.
- Click the name of the diet type you want to view. The diet type slide-out panel appears.
- Scroll down and expand the Nutritional Parameters section.
- The current DRI template is listed in the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) field.
Changing the DRI Template of a Diet Type
To change the DRI template of a diet type, complete the following steps:
- Select Tools & Setup > Diet Orders. The Diet Order Setting screen appears.
- Ensure you are on the Diets and Textures tab.
- Ensure the Diet Category is Standard.
- Click the name of the diet type you want to change. The diet type slide-out panel appears.
- Scroll down and expand the Nutritional Parameters section.
- From the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) drop-down, select the desired DRI template. Its values are automatically populated in the Lower, Ideal, and Max fields.
- Click the Save button at the top of the panel apply your changes.
- Note that when the DRI template has been changed from the system default of "DRI Female, 51-70 Yrs", the revert icon exists beside the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) field that will revert the template to the system default of "DRI Female, 51-70 Yrs".
Printing DRI Nutritional Parameters for a Diet Type
At this time, the nutritional parameters for a DRI cannot be printed. However, you can copy/paste the information into another program, such as Excel®, from which you can print. To do so:
- Open the desired DRI nutritional parameters for the diet type as per steps above.
- Highlight the nutritional parameters rows (as per screenshot below), and then right-click and click Copy, or press Ctrl+C on your keyboard to copy.
- Paste the info to an Excel file tab. You can adjust the info as needed, and then save and print the file.
- Repeat the above steps to copy and paste nutritional parameters for other DRI templates of the same diet type, and the DRI templates of other diet types, to different tabs of the Excel file or a new Excel file.
