About Assigning Multiple Diet Types
For a US account, there is the ability to assign multiple diet types to a profile resident for informational purposes. For example, Diabetic/Renal/Vegetarian. A resident with multiple diet types will be listed on the various people reports that print diet orders.
For instructions on assigning multiple diet types, see Manually Assigning Multiple Diet Types (for Informational Purposes Only and US Accounts Only).
Warning: The assignment of multiple diet types to a resident profile is for informational purposes only, and is only available to US accounts. If a profile is assigned multiple diet types, then only the primary diet type is used by the system to control what foods are served on the personal menu. Additional diet types (i.e., secondary and tertiary diet types) DO NOT CONTROL what foods are served on a resident's personal menu.
Enabling the Ability to Assign Multiple Diet Types to a Profile
By default, the ability to assign multiple diet types to a profile is not enabled (i.e., the Assign Multiple Diets link below the Diets drop-down on a resident/patient profile is not available). To enable the ability to assign multiple diet types to a profile, complete the following steps:
- From the left navigation sidebar, select Tools & Setup > Diet Orders. The Diet Order Setting screen appears with the Diets and Textures tab automatically open.
- Select the Allow multiple diets on people profiles check box.
- The setting is automatically applied, and now on a resident/patient profile the Assign Multiple Diets link is available.
Disabling the Ability to Assign Multiple Diet Types to a Profile
To disable the ability to assign multiple diet types to a profile, complete the following steps:
- From the left navigation sidebar, select Tools & Setup > Diet Orders. The Diet Order Setting screen appears with the Diets and Textures tab automatically open.
- Deselect (i.e., clear) the Allow multiple diets on people profiles check box.
- The setting is automatically applied, and now on a resident/patient profile the Assign Multiple Diets link is no longer available.
FAQs
When a parent account disables/enables the Allow multiple diets on people profiles setting, does the setting flow down to child accounts?
No. The setting is independent to each account.
