Allowing Pop-Ups for your People Reports
If you attempt to generate a report, and nothing happens, then that most likely means pop-ups are being blocked on your browser. You can allow pop-ups by clicking the "Pop-up blocked" icon in the browser address bar, as per screenshot below.
If prompted to allow pop-ups, select the "Always allow" option.
To prevent the browser in the first place from blocking pop-ups, you can set up the browser to allow pop-ups. Instructions to do so can be found in the following article: Allowing Pop-Ups on your Browser.
Generating a People Report
- Ensure your browser is allowing pop-ups. See Allowing Pop-Ups on your Browser
-
Select the residents/patients to be included in a report.
-
Apply the specific settings for each report you want to generate.
- Click the Generate button at the top of the screen.
-
You are presented with the message below stating that you can use other areas of the software while your report generates.
Note: If nothing happens when you click Generate, ensure that you are allowing pop-ups for your browser. See Allowing Pop-Ups for your People Reports.
- If you don't click the Yes, Send Report To My Dashboard And Notify Me When Ready button, then the report will open in a separate browser tab after it generates.
- If you do click the Yes, Send Report To My Dashboard And Notify Me When Ready button, the system will notify you when the report is ready (first screenshot below), allowing you to download it now, or dismiss the message and later retrieve the report from the Notifications and Alerts section (i.e., dashboard) on the home page (second screenshot below).
Note that the dashboard notification only appears to the user who generated the report and expires after 24 hours. Also note that if you are required to log out of the system, or if your browser session ends, the reports will continue to generate and be available from the home page for 24 hours.
Note: The home page is accessed by clicking the logo at the top left of the screen.

I am not seeing all of my residents/patients on a people report? A label/sticker is not printing for a resident/patient?
The following scenarios can prevent a resident being displayed on a people report:
-
Off-Premise (LOA) - A person marked off-premise (LOA) will not be included in a report (except for the Roster report) . You can return the person from LOA: see Manually Marking a Person as On-Premise (Return from LOA).
-
Archived Profiles - A resident will not appear on a people report if that resident profile is archived in the system. To confirm if residents are archived in the system, see Locating Archived Persons. If necessary to unarchive a resident, see Unarchiving a Person.
Note: If your account is connected with your EHR system via a MealSuite Connect interface, then profile updates for a resident in the EHR will be reflected for that person's profile in your MealSuite account. As such, if the resident has a discharge status in the EHR, such as what will occur with a leave of absence (LOA), then Connect will archive that profile in your account.
- Ignored Room - the person can be assigned to an "ignored room". An ignored room is a room that food is not served to (such as an emergency room or outpatient room).
-
Invalid Diet Order Message - If people selected to be on the report have an invalid diet order, then a message appears indicating such when generating the report. You have the option to resolve the invalid diet orders by going to the people listing screen, or to print the report and exclude profiles with the invalid diet orders.
How do I print a report/ticket/label for only a single resident/patient?
When selecting the people to be in the report, you only select the one person (and no one else).
What is the "Messages from EHR are unresolved" text on the People Reports Screen?
If a Connect interface message from an EHR contains data in the form of a person, room, allergy or diet order that is not mapped to a corresponding MealSuite entity (person, room, allergy, diet order), then the Connect interface cannot process the message. Such a message is considered unresolved, and as such the following warning message appears in red text on the People Reports screen:
"[X] messages received from [EHR] are currently unresolved due to unknown data in Connect Mapping. This is preventing your people profiles from being updated with the most up-to-date allergen, diet order, or room data. To resolve these messages go to People > Connect and click the Mapping button. For more information, see About Resolving Connect Messages."
(Right-click image to open and expand in new tab)
You can resolve Connect messages on the Connect screen. For more information, see the Resolving Connect Messages chapter.
The names of items on my report are different from the names of the items on the personal menus?
A people report (e.g., tray ticket) generates items using their display names (i.e., user-friendly names). When viewing the personal menu, you have the option of viewing items by their display name or lookup name (i.e., system name). Therefore, if the names are different between a report and the personal menu view, it indicates you are viewing the lookup names in the personal menu.
What report prints a list of residents with in-room service?
You an use the People Roster report, which prints a list of residents with a column for Dining Area. For a resident/patient who receive in-room meal service, the Dining Area column states In Room.
Alternatively, you can open the People Listing screen, and sort by Dining Area. For resident/patients who receive in-room meal service, the Dining Area column states In Room. You can then export the people list to an Excel® file, from which you can make further edits to remove any information you do not need.
How do I exclude residents/patients from a report based on their settings? For example, exclude resident/patients with a diet type of NPO or tube feeding?
Use the People Listing screen and its filters to determine the residents/patients you want to print in a report. You can filter by the following setting types: service type, residence area, dining area, diet type, texture type, fluid type, allergens.
To exclude residents/patients with a specific setting (e.g., NPO as the diet type), you would select all settings of a setting type but not the settings you want to exclude (e.g., select all diet types but not NPO to exclude residents/patients with an NPO diet type).
Can a people report be generated automatically?
No. A people report (e.g., tray menu ticket) cannot be generated automatically. You must go through the steps of generating the report manually. See Generating a People Report.
If a menu category has no menu items, what appears on a report/ticket?
If a menu category has no menu items, then that category will not print on the report/ticket.
Can a people report (e.g., tray card tickets, tray menu tickets) print on a thermal or impact printer?
No. People reports print either as a PDF document or Excel® document for you to print at a standard office printer.
What report can be used to print a list of residents/patients receiving a specific item (e.g., whole milk)?
At this time such a specific report does not exist.
When I select the settings for a report, are those settings saved for the next time I run the report?
Yes. Settings for each report are saved for the next time you visit the Reports screen to run a report. Note, however, if you clear you browser cache, the report settings will be lost.
Why is diet type, texture type, and fluid type in red font?
This indicates that the assigned diet intervention is no longer valid for the resident/profile's assigned diet type/texture type combination.
Is there a report that generates a history of the items served to a resident/patient (e.g., how can i see what a resident chose for lunch the previous day)?
The Order History Report of Fired Items can be generated that lists items that were ordered by residents via the front-end ordering app (advanced ordering and instant ordering via the Touch app, POS, and the Portal app). The report is run from the Core system and can generated by date or by residents; see Order History Report of Items Fired to Kitchen from Front-End Ordering Apps.
Residents/patients with the non-select service type are not represented in the Touch app for a server to select items for; therefore no order history report can be generated for such residents/patients.
