About the Inventory On Hand Screen
The Inventory On Hand Screen (Inventory > Manage Storage Areas) provides a view of the current inventory items (food and non-food items) in your MealSuite account and their storage area assignments.
What Items are Listed?
The food and non-food items listed on the Inventory On Hand screen are the items currently in use in the system, defined as follows:
- Items from active menus (i.e., currently scheduled), and future-scheduled menus (including the menu item extensions).
- Personal menu items for active people (i.e., not archived people).
- Items in the fluid substitution grid, assuming the regular item is in use as per one of the two bullet points above.
The All Areas Tab
The Inventory On Hand screen displays the All Areas tab (screenshot below), listing all items in the system.
Storage Area Tabs
Each storage area in your Mealsuite account is represented as an individual tab, which, when clicked, lists the items assigned to that storage area (screenshot below).
Filtering Items Onscreen
Via the Filters tool available at the top of the screen, you can determine what items are listed. The two filters that are available are Food Type (food, non-food item, prepared food) and Storage Type.
Setting Preferred Columns
You can customize the information on the Inventory On Hand Screen by setting your preferred columns.
Click the Set Columns button to display the Set Columns window, which allows you to choose your preferred columns to display. Click the Apply button to apply your changes.
Assigning Inventory Items to Storage Area Sections and Sub-Sections
If your storage area is set up with sections and sub-sections, then you can assign the storage area items to those sections and sub-sections. For more information see Assigning Items to Sections and Sub-Sections of the Storage Area.
About Items Not Assigned to Storage Area
When one or more items are not assigned to storage areas, then when you open the Inventory On Hand screen (Inventory > Manage Storage Areas), a notification pop-up appears stating that there are unassigned items because the storage type of these items is not assigned to a storage area (screenshot below).
For more information on how unassigned items can exist in the system and how to assign them via the notification pop-up above, see When an Item has no Storage Area.
