Guide for Non-IDDSI Accounts

If your account is not transitioning to IDDSI, then use this article as a reference to adapt your account with texture and fluid terminology, and recipe names. 

Update Texture Type Terminology

Using the table below as a reference, update the texture type names and definitions. To do so, see Changing Display Name and Definition of a Texture Type.

Update Fluid Type Terminology

Using the table below as a reference, update the fluid type names and definitions. To do so, see Changing Display Name and Definition of a Fluid Type.

Unpublish IDDSI Texture Tags

Unpublish the IDDSI texture tags in your account so that they do not display on the various screens and reports. To do so, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Tools & Setup > Recipe Tools.
  2. Click the Tags tab. The Tags screen appears.
  3. Click the Texture tab at the top of the screen. The IDDSI texture tags are listed.

  4. To unpublish an IDDSI tag, click its cog wheel on the right side, and select Unpublish.

Unpublish IDDSI Fluid Tags

Unpublish the IDDSI fluid tags in your account so that they do not display on the various screens and reports. To do so, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Tools & Setup > Recipe Tools.
  2. Click the Tags tab. The Tags screen appears.
  3. Click the Fluid tab at the top of the screen. The IDDSI fluid tags are listed.

  4. To unpublish an IDDSI tag, click its cog wheel on the right side, and select Unpublish.

Determine Recipe Names and Submit Request to Update

Using the table below, determine your preferred terminology you want texture-modified recipes (e.g., puree = P.). Then work with your implementation specialist to have a request submitted to MealSuite Support to update the the recipe names with your preferred terminology.

Recipe Extension Changes

The following recipe types may need to have their extensions updated in line with your account's desired texture modified framework:

  • Sandwiches and Bread/Rolls: IDDSI framework does not allow regular bread; therefore puree bread is provided for MM5 and SB6 extensions. 
  • Transitional Foods: Foods such as ice cream, sorbet, and gelatin are not compliant with IDDSI textures and substitutes have been provided in extensions.
