About the Sort Options for People Reports

Certain people reports can be sorted in the desired print order required by staff (e.g., printing tray card tickets or tray menu tickets in a desired order). The sort options for these reports are selected from the Sort By field (screenshot below) and are described as follows:

This article explains how to set the sort order for the Dining Area sort option and the Delivery Sequence sort option.

Setting the Sorting for the "Dining Area" Sort Option

The Dining Area sort option on a people report sorts a people report (e.g., Person-Specific Select Menus Report), first by dining areas (see Sorting Dining Areas), then sub-sorts by the sort order of tables (see Sorting Tables in a Dining Area), and further sub-sorts by seat number.

Setting the Sorting for the "Delivery Sequence" Feature

Selecting the Delivery Sequence sort option on a people report will sort that people report according to the customized sorting set for the Delivery Sequence feature. The Delivery Sequence feature allows for the following sorting to be applied:

  • Campuses (if enabled) can be sorted among other campuses.
  • Standard dining areas can be sorted among other standard dining areas and the top-level residential unit that is enabled: campus, building, or residence area.
    • Tables can be sorted within a dining area.
      • Seats can be sorted within a table.

In addition, each meal period (breakfast, lunch, dinner) can have individual sorting separate from the other meal periods, and the snack delivery (for all snack service times) can have individual sorting separate from the meal periods.

To access the Delivery Sequence settings and create your desired sort order, complete the following steps:

  1. In your Core account, select Settings from the left navigation sidebar. The Settings panel appears to the right.

  2. From the Settings panel, select People Settings > Delivery Sequence. The Delivery Sequence screen appears (screenshot below). You can see how the screen presents a user-friendly structure with expandable/collapsible sections.

  3. To create separate sorting for each meal period (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and snack delivery (snack am, snack pm, snack hs), enable the Delivery Sequence by Meal slider.

  4. For each meal period and the snacks, sort the units to their desired order by clicking and holding the drag handle of the unit, and then dragging and dropping the unit to the desired spot. The changes are automatically applied.
