What’s a POS Administrator Champion?
POS Administrator Champions are team members who take on a leadership role in supporting the use of the Point of Sale for back-end maintenance like updating menu items, pricing and configurations.
Communities may have multiple Champions across different areas or applications. These Champions are encouraged to collaborate closely, share insights and support one another to ensure a seamless experience for residents and staff alike.
Am I eligible to become a Champion?
You might be a perfect fit for the POS Administrator Champion role if you:
- Manage or maintain POS systems across one or more service lines (Dining, Retail, Services, etc.).
- Are responsible for updating menu items, pricing and system configurations.
- Support other team members by ensuring the POS is accurate, functional and aligned with operational needs.
- Are excited to assist other communities or departments with POS setup, configuration, or troubleshooting.
What does a Champion need to know and do?
To be considered a POS Administrator Champion, you’ll need to be able to confidently:

Manage Menu & Product configuration: Add, remove, or adjust:
- Products and services
- Menu items and categories
- Modifiers and customizations
- Pricing and discounts
- POS Grids and item organization
- Maintain system accuracy: Ensure the POS reflects current offerings, pricing structures, and operational workflows.

Support reporting & reconciliation: Access and interpret reports such as:
- Sales Activity
- Diner Statements
- Meal Participation
- End of Day and Cashout Reports
- Coordinate with financial teams Collaborate on tax reconciliation, payroll deduction accounts, and meal plan tracking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Identify and fix configuration errors, missing items, or pricing discrepancies.
Supporting your team as a champion
Champions should be equipped to guide others on:
- Item & service structure: How products, services, and modifiers are organized in the POS and where they originate from (e.g., service catalogs, inventory systems).
- Customization logic: How modifiers and appointment settings (for services) are configured and applied.
