Become a Champion – lead with impact
When you step into the role of a Champion, you're not just mastering a system, you’re becoming a catalyst for growth and confidence with technology in your community.
Whether you're helping teammates master a POS solution, guiding peers through a self-service app, or ensuring financial reporting is spot-on, you’re the trusted expert others turn to.
Champions inspire consistency, elevate excellence and make a real difference every day.
What’s a Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) Champion?
Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) Champions are team members who take on a leadership role in supporting the use of the Point of Sale kiosk(s) in your front-of-house setting.
Communities may have multiple Champions across different areas or applications. These Champions are encouraged to collaborate closely, share insights and support one another to ensure a seamless experience for residents and staff alike.
Am I eligible to become a Champion?
You might be a perfect fit for the SSK Champion role if you:
- Work in a community with one or more Self-Service Kiosks (grab-and-go and/or self-ordering style).
- Support residents as they use the kiosk to place their own orders.
- Manage team members who also help residents navigate the kiosk.
- Are excited about supporting other communities and their teams during kiosk launches or trainings.
What does a Champion need to know and do?
To be considered an SSK Champion, you’ll need to be able to confidently:
- Guide residents through the experience: Help residents understand how to use the kiosk, whether for quick checkout or self-ordering:
- Support order entry: Assist residents with tapping through screens, selecting items and customizing orders.
- Monitor and troubleshoot: Identify and resolve common issues residents may encounter (e.g., barcode scanning, payment errors).
- Process payments: Ensure residents can complete transactions using Meal Plan, Bill to Room, Credit, Charge Account or Gift Cards.
- Manage pickup & delivery orders: Oversee the flow of orders placed for pickup or delivery (if applicable).
- Locate transactions & refunds: Help residents or staff locate past transactions and process refunds when needed.
- Run reports: Generate Meal Participation Reports and Cashout Reports as needed.
Supporting your team as a champion
Champions should be equipped to guide others on:
- Kiosk layout & item organization: How menu items are grouped and displayed on the kiosk interface.
- Order firing logic: When orders are sent to the kitchen, and how that varies by kiosk type (e.g., grab-and-go vs. made-to-order).
