Become a Champion – lead with impact
When you step into the role of a Champion, you're not just mastering a system, you’re becoming a catalyst for growth and confidence with technology in your community.
Whether you're helping teammates master a POS solution, guiding peers through a self-service app, or ensuring financial reporting is spot-on, you’re the trusted expert others turn to.
Champions inspire consistency, elevate excellence and make a real difference every day.
What’s a Quick Service POS Champion?
Quick Service POS Champions are team members who take on a leadership role in supporting the use of Point of Sale in express dining locations like cafés, bistros, tuck shops or cafeterias.
Communities may have multiple Champions across different areas or applications. These Champions are encouraged to collaborate closely, share insights and support one another to ensure a seamless experience for residents and staff alike.
Am I eligible to become a Champion?
You might be a perfect fit for the Quick Service POS Champion role if you:
- Work in a community with at least one Quick Service (bistro or cafeteria-style) Point of Sale system
- Actively use the POS to take, submit and accept payments for orders
- Support or manage team members who use the POS
- Are excited about assisting other communities and their teams during POS launches
What does a Champion need to know and do?
To be considered a Quick Service POS Champion, you’ll need to be able to confidently:
- Execute quick service transactions: Take and submit orders for residents or guests, including firing them to the kitchen if applicable.
- Customize orders: Use modifiers to tailor orders to individual preferences.
- Use barcode technology: Use barcodes and barcode readers to streamline workflows and improve speed.
- Process payments: Accept payments via Meal Plan, Bill to Room, Cash, Credit, Charge Account, or Gift Cards and add Discounts where applicable.
- Handle pickup & delivery: Place and oversee off-site orders (if applicable in your community).
- Manage transactions: Locate past transactions and process refunds.
- Run reports: Generate Meal Participation Reports and Cashout Reports as needed.
Supporting your team as a champion
Champions should be equipped to guide others on:
- Menu organization: How items are structured in the POS and where they originate from.
- Order firing decisions: When and why to fire orders to the kitchen - or when it may not be necessary.
