Viewing Allergens Associated with a Recipe
When an ingredient contained in a recipe belongs to an allergen group, then that recipe is also associated with the allergen group.
You can see any allergen groups associated with a recipe by opening the recipe and expanding the Nutritional Content section. The system does not allow you to disassociate a recipe from an allergen group as it would pose a safety risk to the people you are serving.
FAQs
I use a shell recipe in the system (i.e., one without ingredients) for display purposes on tickets/personal menu/menu WaaG view. Can allergens be associated with a shell recipe?
No. Allergens are associated with an ingredient. Therefore the recipe must contain ingredients in order for the recipe to be associated with allergens.
Do allergens that are associated with a manufacturer product become associated with a food item/ingredient that is in a recipe?
No. Allergens associated with a manufacturer product (which in turn is sold by the vendor to become a vendor product) is not transferred to its associated food item (i.e., ingredient) in the system. Instead, the association of allergens to food items are maintained directly in the system and are managed by the MealSuite Nutrition Services team.
