Printing Recipes for your Menus
The following reports allow you to print recipes for your menus:
Recipe Cookbook Report (Menus)
The Recipe Cookbook report prints your menu recipes for use in binders and kitchen documentation. You can enter up to four serving sizes that the report will calculate. For example, 10, 25, 50, 100. Click here for steps on generating the Recipe Cookbook Report (Menus).
Note: For a recipe to be included in the report, its Include in scaled recipes and cookbooks check box must be selected, as per screenshot below (open the recipe to confirm if the check box is selected).
Recipes at Scale Report (Production)
The Recipes at Scale report prints your menu recipes scaled to the ingredient amounts needed for the total production servings (i.e., the recipes are scaled to match your production requirements, which in turn uses forecasting calculations). Click here for steps on generating the Recipes at Scale Report (Production).
Note: For a recipe to be included in the report, its Include in scaled recipes and cookbooks check box must be selected, as per screenshot below (open the recipe to confirm if the check box is selected).
Printing a Single Recipe
When you open a recipe, its screen presents with the Print Preview button, which allows you to generate a PDF of the recipe. Note, however, that the Print Preview button is not on a prepared food (to print a prepared food, see "Printing a Single Prepared Food" below). To generate a PDF of a single recipe, complete the following steps:
- Ensure your browser is allowing pop-ups. See Allowing Pop-Ups on your Browser.
-
Open the recipe.
- For a recipe to be printed via the Print Preview button, the recipe's Include in scaled recipes and cookbooks check box must be selected. Ensure this check box is selected, as per screenshot below.
- Click the Print Preview button (first screenshot below) The PDF of the recipe is generated in a separate browser tab (second screenshot below). You can download and/or print this PDF. Note that if the Print Preview button is not available, it means that you have opened a prepared food.
Note the Following
- If nothing happens when you click the Print Preview button, it most likely means your browser is not allowing pop-ups. See Allowing Pop-Ups on your Browser.
- The single recipe PDF that is generated utilizes the Scaled Recipes Report (Recipes) with all settings selected. For a recipe to be generated in that report, the recipe's Include in scaled recipes and cookbooks check box must be selected, as per screenshot below (open the recipe to confirm if the check box is selected). If the check box is not selected, a blank PDF will be generated.
- The Servings in the single recipe PDF are taken from the Yield in the recipe.
Printing a Single Prepared Food
For a prepared food, there is no Print Preview button as there is with a standard recipe. Therefore the means to print a prepared food is by first selecting it and then running the Scaled Recipes Report (Recipes).
Note: For a recipe to be generated in Scaled Recipes Report (Recipes), the recipe's Include in scaled recipes and cookbooks check box must be selected, as per screenshot below (open the recipe to confirm if the check box is selected).
Printing a Recipe with Different Serving Yields
You can print any recipe in the system (i.e., master recipes and prepared foods) with up to four different serving yields via the Scaled Recipes Report (Recipes). To do so, complete the following steps:
- Ensure your browser is allowing pop-ups. See Allowing Pop-Ups on your Browser.
-
Open the Recipes Listing screen (Menus & Recipes > Recipes Listing), and locate the recipe.
- Select the check box of the recipe, and then click the Print button.
- The Reports screen appears with the Scaled Recipes Report (Recipes) automatically selected.
- Select the different serving yields to generate, along with other applicable report settings (see Scaled Recipe Report Settings for more information).
- Click the Generate button to generate the report. The Scaled Recipes Report (Recipes) is generated (screenshot below).
Note the Following
- If nothing happens when you click the Generate button, it most likely means your browser is not allowing pop-ups. See Allowing Pop-Ups on your Browser.
- For a recipe to be generated in Scaled Recipes Report (Recipes), the recipe's Include in scaled recipes and cookbooks check box must be selected, as per screenshot below (open the recipe to confirm if the check box is selected).
