Opening a Resident/Patient Profile
To open a resident/patient profile, complete the following steps:
- From the left navigation sidebar, select People > People Listing. The People Listing screen appears.
- Select the appropriate people group tab at the top of the screen, or select the All tab to search across all people groups.
- In the Search field, enter a full name or partial to return results that match your search criteria.

- If searching for a group of residents with similar settings, then use the filters and click Apply. The screen refreshes with your results.
- Click the name of the profile to open. The profile opens as a slide-out panel.
- If not using a Connect interface to your EHR that automatically updates resident/patient profiles, you can make direct edits as needed. Rather than repeat the instructions here, the same instructions can be found in the following article, Manually Creating a Resident/Patient Profile, starting at step 3.
FAQs
I can't find a resident/patient? A resident/patient is no longer showing?
- In this scenario, it often means the MealSuite system archived the profile because it received a discharge message from the EHR via the Connect interface.
You can confirm if the profile was archived by opening the People Listing screen, and using the Status filter to display all archived profiles. For specific instructions, see Locating Archived Persons.
If the profile is archived, then you can unarchive the profile. For specific instructions, see Unarchiving a Profile.
Note, however, if the profile was deleted from the system, it cannot be recovered. Therefore it is recommended to always archive your resident/patient profiles.

Another reason that a resident/patient cannot be found is because in the EHR the person was transferred to a room that is mapped as Ignored Room in your Connect interface mapping. Patients in an ignored room, such as an emergency room or outpatient room, will not be served during meal period and snack times. Click here for more information on ignored rooms.
On the People Listing screen, you can easily locate profiles with the Ignored Room status by selecting Ignored Room from the Status filter.
I change a name on their profile but it changes back/gets overwritten?
If using a Connect interface to your EHR, the name in the EHR will overwrite the name in the MealSuite profile the next time a demographic update message is received. Therefore ensure to change the name on the EHR.
