Sort By:
- Person Name - sorts the labels alphabetically by last name of resident/patient.
- Room - sorts the report according to the alphabetical/numerical order of residence areas.
-
Meals/Snacks - sorts the labels according to order of the snack times served during the day: assuming all snack times (AM, PM, HS) are selected in the Meals & Snacks drop-down, the order is as follows: snack am, snack pm, snack HS. Within each snack time, the labels print in alphabetical/numerical order of residence areas.
-
Print By field, you determine the “direction” in which the labels are sorted:
- Row - labels are sorted left to right across each row.
-
Column - labels are sorted going down each column.
- Start each area on a new row (available if Sort By = Room and Print By = Row are selected) - each residence area begins on the left label spot of a new row. Without this option selected, then the first label of a residence area is generated in the next available label spot.
- Start each area on a new column (available if Sort By = Room and Print By = Column are selected) - each residence area begins on the top label spot of a new column. Without this option selected, then the first label of a residence area is generated in the next available label spot.

Adjusting Scaling When Printing Stickers
If experiencing scaling or alignment issues when printing stickers/labels, such as text being cut off, you can adjust the scale percentage to what best fits your printer. The means to do this depends if you are printing from your browser or from your PDF reader (if the report has been downloaded).
Adjusting Scaling from Browser
If printing the PDF report from your browser (either Microsoft® Edge and Google Chrome™), complete the following steps to adjust the scale percentage:
- Open the printer window.
- Expand the More Settings section (screenshot below shows Chrome).
- If using Chrome, select Custom from the Scale drop-down, and enter 100 in the percentage field.
- If using Edge, select the percentage field option under the Scale (%) section, and enter 100 in the percentage field.
- Print one page of the report to test.
- If the alignment is not accurate at 100%, then adjust the scale percentage accordingly to find the percentage that best fits your printer.
Adjusting Scaling from PDF Reader
If you downloaded the report and are printing from your PDF reader, complete the following steps to adjust the scale percentage:
- Open the printer window.
- Select the Custom Scale option, and enter 100 in the percentage field.
- Print one page of the report to test.
- If the alignment is not accurate at 100%, then adjust the scale percentage accordingly to find the percentage that best fits your printer.
FAQs
A resident/patient is being excluded from the report due to an invalid diet order message?
If one or more persons selected to be in the report have an invalid diet order, then a message appears indicating such when generating the report.
You can view which persons have an invalid diet order by opening the People Listing screen (People > People Listing). A person with an invalid diet order has the following icon in the Alerts column: :
Hovering your cursor over icon explains why the diet order is invalid.
You can open the person's profile and change their diet order as needed.
For more on what causes an invalid diet order, see the following article: Invalid Diet Orders.
When printing stickers, how do I sort them by the meal and snack order that is served during the day?
For the Sort By option, select Meal/Snack. This sorts the labels according to the order served during the day. Assuming all meals and snacks are selected in the Meals & Snacks drop-down, the order is breakfast, snack am, lunch, snack pm, dinner, snack HS. Within each snack service, the labels print in alphabetical/numerical order of residence areas.
My stickers are cut off when I print them. How do I fix this?
After clicking Print, you can adjust the scale percentage to what best fits your printer. For more information, see Adjusting Scaling on Printed PDF Reports above.
Why aren't my snack stickers generating for a resident?
- From the Sticker type drop-down, select Snack stickers, and from the Include snacks from drop-down, you have the following options:
- Snack menu only - generates stickers for snacks on the scheduled snack menu.
-
Snack menu & personal items - generates stickers for snacks on the scheduled snack menu, along with any personal menu items that are included in a snack service time (snack am, snack pm, snack hs) on personal menus. If a personal menu item is included in a meal period (breakfast, lunch, dinner), that personal menu item will not be printed.
- Check if the resident/patient has been assigned an allergen. If so, any existing snacks or personal menu items that conflict with the allergen will not be served. For a snack or personal menu item whose sticker is not generating, you can view its associated allergens; to do so see Viewing Allergens Associated with a Recipe.
- Ensure the menu category (e.g., "Extra Items" category) that the snack is assigned to is selected for the meal services (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) and snack services (Snack AM, Snack PM, Snack HS). To do so, click the [X] Menu Category Selection link and the Select Menu Categories pop-up appears for you to select the categories.
A menu item is not being printed on a ticket/label for my resident/patient?
If a menu item is not being printed for a resident/patient, check the following:
- Check the personal menu for the resident/patient to see if the item is excluded (ensure the Show Excluded Items option is enabled). Excluded items are displayed with a strikethrough and can be due to the following:
- An allergen assigned to the resident/patient.
- An item manually marked as do not serve for the resident/patient.
- The resident/patient has the advanced ordering service type and chose to skip a meal.
- If the resident/patient is assigned a therapeutic diet order (i.e., a non-regular diet order), then it could be that no recipe is extended for that therapeutic diet order on the extension grid for the menu item. Ensure the extension grid for the menu item is configured accordingly. See Working in a Menu Item Extension Grid.
or
If the menu item is a fluid recipe, and the resident/patient is assigned a fluid type, then check the fluid substitution grid for the associated recipe of that menu item. Ensure the fluid substitution grid for the fluid recipe is configured accordingly. See Extending a Fluid Recipe with Fluid Recipe Substitutes.
A resident is being served a snack not on the snack menu?
This most likely indicates the resident is on a therapeutic diet order, and as such the system is offering the therapeutic substitute item that has been extended for the regular snack item that is on the menu.
To open, view or change the therapeutic substitutes of an item, see Working in a Menu Item Extension Grid.
To change the diet order for a resident, see Assigning Diet Order (Diet Type, Texture Type, Fluid Type) to Person.
I am receiving the "No Menu Items" message when trying to generate stickers/labels?
For the residents/patients selected to be in the report, their assigned dining area, or residence area enabled as a dining area for in-room service, is not associated with a menu.
A menu is associated with a dining area/residence area enabled as a dining area via a menu service location (MSL). The menu service location can be thought of as the “connecting piece”: the menu is assigned to the menu service location and the dining area/residence area enabled as a dining area is assigned to the menu service location.
- To change the dining area of a person, see Assigning Dining Area, Table and Seat to a Person.
- To see what menu service location a dining area/residence area enabled as dining area is assigned to, see Seeing the Menu Service Location a Dining Area is Assigned To. To change the menu service location of a dining area, see Changing the Menu Service Location (MSL) of a Dining Area.
- To see what menu service location a menu is assigned to, see Seeing the Menu Service Location (MSL) a Menu is Assigned To. To change the menu service location of a menu, see Changing the Menu Service Location (MSL) of a Menu.
An item is showing on the Stickers report but I believe should not be due to the person's assigned allergen?
A recipe (i.e., menu item) is associated with an allergen group via one or more of its ingredients. If an item is not removed from the report that you believe should be removed due to the assigned allergen on the person's profile, then first confirm if the recipe is associated with that allergen group. To do see Viewing Allergens Associated with a Recipe.
If the recipe is associated with a different allergen group than the allergen group currently assigned to the profile, then you can assign the correct allergen group to the profile. See Assigning Allergens to a Person.
or
If the recipe is not associated with what you believe is the correct allergen group assigned to the profile, then you can associate the recipe to the correct allergen group by adding the affected ingredient to the allergen group. See Adding Food Items to Allergen Group.
I have adaptive aides that I do not want to print labels for?
Click the [X] Menu Categories Includes link to display the Select Menu Categories pop-up (below), and then remove the "adaptive aides" category from each meal service/snack time.
Snacks and/or personal menu items in a snack service (am, pm, hs) are not generating/printing for a resident?
During a snack service, typically the snacks are served to a person's room. Therefore, in the system, a residence area by default is also enabled as a dining area to allow for room delivery.
If snacks and personal menu items in a snack time (am, ps, hs) are not being generated for a resident, it could be that their assigned residence area is no longer enabled as a dining area. See the following article to re-enable a residence area as a dining area: Re-enabling Residence Area as a Dining Area.
In addition, the residence area assigned to the person must also share the same menu service location of the snack menu.
- To see what menu service location a residence area enabled as a dining area is assigned to, see Seeing the Menu Service Location a Dining Area is Assigned To. To change the menu service location of a dining area, see Changing the Menu Service Location (MSL) of a Dining Area.
- To see what menu service location the snack menu is assigned to, see Seeing the Menu Service Location (MSL) a Menu is Assigned To. To change the menu service location of the snack menu, see Changing the Menu Service Location (MSL) of a Menu.
For other reasons snack items are not generating for a resident/patient, see the following FAQ: I am not seeing all of my residents/patients on a people report? A label/sticker is not printing for a resident/patient?
I am printing stickers/labels for personal menu items, but those personal menu items are missing/not generating for a resident?
It could be that the resident's diet order was changed and the personal menu items were not copied over to the new diet order. Open the resident's personal menu to confirm. For instructions on copying personal menu items from a past diet order to the current diet order for a resident, click here.
I extended a snack recipe with therapeutic substitute items. Why am I not seeing those items on the label/sticker of residents/patients with therapeutic diet orders?
Menu item extensions take precedence over the recipe extensions. Therefore, if you extended a recipe with therapeutic substitute items, then you need to ensure those changes are synched to the recipe's associated menu item. See Updating Menu Item Extensions with the Recipe Extensions.
For more on extensions and the relationship between a recipe and its associated menu item, see Overview of Recipe Extensions (i.e., Therapeutic Substitutes).
Can I sort the Stickers report by diet type or texture type?
No. You cannot sort the Stickers report by diet type or texture type. See above for sort options.
Can profile notes be printed on a sticker? Can service notes be printed on a sticker?
No, at this time profile notes or service notes cannot be printed on a sticker. If a personal note has been added to a snack item or personal menu item, the personal note will print with the item.
Items are being printed for a resident/patient, but I don't see those items in their personal menu?
Items on a resident/patient's personal menu will print on a report/label. Therefore if items are being printed that you do not see in a personal menu, it most likely means the personal menu is set not to display the item(s). Via the Display Options of the personal menu, you can configure the following to display/not display:
- Snack items
- Also available items
- Specific menu categories
